On the first Saturday in their new home; Hank took his new red car out of garage and was washing it when a neighbor came by。 When he saw Hank’s new car; the neighbor stopped and looked at it for a minute。 Then Hank turned and saw him。
The neighbor said;“That’s a nice car。 Is it yours?”
“Sometimes。” Hank answered。
The neighbor was surprised。 “Sometimes?” he said;“What do you mean?”
“Well;” answered Hank slowly; “when there’s a party in town; it belongs to my daughter; Jane。 When there’s a football game somewhere; it belongs to my son; Joe。 When I’ve washed it; and it looks really nice and clean; it belongs to my wife。 And when it needs gas; It’s mine。。

Give Me a Different Reason
The Officer found that none of his soldiers were there。 One finally ran up; panting heavily。
“Sorry; sir! I can explain; you see I had a date and it ran a little late。 I ran to the bus but missed it。 I hailed a cab but it broke down; found a farm; bought a horse but it dropped dead; ran 10 miles; and now I’m here。 ”
The Officer was very skeptical about this explanation but at least he was here so he let the soldier go。 Moments later; eight more soldiers came up to the officer panting; he asked them why they were late。
“Sorry; sir! I had a date and it ran a little late; I ran to the bus but missed it; I hailed a cab but it broke down; found a farm; bought a horse but it dropped dead; ran 10 miles; and now I’m here。”
The Officer eyed them; feeling very skeptical but since he let the first guy go; he let them go; too。 A ninth soldier; jogged up to the officer; panting heavily。
“Sorry; sir! I had a date and it ran a little late。 I ran to the bus but missed it。 I hailed a cab but。。。”
“Let me guess;” the officer interrupted。 “it broke down。”
“No。” said the soldier; “there were so many dead horses on the road; it took forever to get around them。”

Partners with God
A farmer purchases an old; run…down; abandoned farm with plans to turn it into a thriving enterprise。 The fields are grown over with weeds; the farmhouse is falling apart; and the fences are collapsing all around。
During his first day of work; the town preacher stops by to bless the man’s work; saying; “May you and God work together to make this the farm of your dreams!”
A few months later; the preacher stops by again to call on the farmer。 Look and behold。 it’s like a pletely different place—the farmhouse is pletely rebuilt and in excellent condition; there are plenty of cattle and other livestock happily munching on feed in well…fenced pens; and the fields are filled with crops planted in neat rows。 “Amazing!” the preacher says。 “Look what God and you have acplished together!”
“Yes; reverend;” says the farmer; “but remember what the farm was like when God was working it alone!”
Smart Students Taking a Final Exam
A professor stood before his class of 20 senior organic biology students; about to hand out the final exam。
“I want to say that it’s been a pleasure teaching you this semester。 I know you’ve all worked extremely hard and many of you are off to medical school after summer。 So that no one gets their GPA messed up because they might have been celebrating a bit too much this week; anyone who would like to opt out of the final exam today will receive a ‘B’ for the course。”
There was much rejoicing amongst the class as students got up; passed by the professor to thank him and sign out on his offer。 As the last taker left the room; the professor looked out over the handful of remaining students and asked; “Any one else? This is your last chance。” One final student rose up and took the offer。

The professor closed the door and took attendance of those students remaining。 “I’m glad to see you believe in yourself。” he said。 “You all have ‘A’ s。”
The Artist and the Farmer
An artist went to a beautiful part of the country for a holiday and stayed with a farmer。 Every day he went out with his paints and his brushes and painted till evening; and then when it got dark he went back to the farm and had a good dinner before he went to bed。
At the end of his holiday he wanted to pay the farmer; but the farmer said:
“No; I don’t want money。 But give me one of your pictures。 What’s money? In a week it will all be finished; but your picture will still be here。”
The painter was very pleased and thanked the farmer for saying such kind things about his paintings。
The farmer smiled and answered:
“It’s not that。 I have a son in London。 He wants to bee an artist。 When he es here next month; I’ll show him your picture; and then he will not want to be an artist any more; I think。”
An Unexpected Answer
A math teacher had been teaching his class all about fractions for the past week; and now he wanted to find out how much they had been able to remember; so he asked one of the boys in the class;“if I cut a piece of meat into two pieces; what would I get?”
“Halves。” answered the student at once。
“Good;” said the teacher; “Robert; if I cut each piece in half again?”
“Fourths。” answered Robert。
“Yes;”said the teacher; nodding to the next boy。“And again?”
“Eighths。”
“Yes;” said the teacher; nodding to the next boy。“And again?”

A Good Catch
Joe was going into his usual bar before lunch when he saw a poody dressed man fishing in a small pool of rain…water about five centimeters deep outside it。 Joe stopped and watched the man for a few minutes。 He saw that most of the people who passed by him believed he must be rather mad。
Joe pitied the man; so after a few rainutes he went up to him and said kindly;“Hello。 would you like to e into the bar and have a drink with me?”
The fisherman was delighted to accept his offer; and the two men went into the bar together。 Joe bought the fisherman a few drinks; and finally said to him。 “You’ve been fishing outside here; haven’t you? How many did you manage to catch this morning; if I may ask?”
“You’ve been the eighth。” the fisher…man answered merrily。
